Successful Completion of a High-Risk, Complex Surgery for a Patient in His Sixties

The initial medical examination revealed a wound in the left eye's cornea, in addition to cataracts.

Dr. Amin Nawar, consultant in retinal and vitreous diseases and surgery, was called to handle the case. He conducted precise examinations including CT scans and ultrasound on the injured eye, which showed the presence of the foreign object along with bleeding in the vitreous body.

The patient was immediately prepared for surgery, where corneal wound repair was performed, cataracts were removed, vitreous hemorrhage was cleaned, and the foreign object was extracted from inside the eye. The operation resulted in notable improvement in the visual acuity of the injured eye.
